I enjoy teaching children, and I feel very fortunate while at Oberlin College to have discovered the Suzuki Piano Basics method because of its emphasis on beautiful tone and a natural, relaxed body.

I've taught Suzuki Piano Basics to children for over 30 years, both full-time currently and part-time previously while I pursued a career in the corporate and non-profit worlds in sales and fund raising. I attended the Suzuki International Conference in Matsumoto, Japan in 1983 and have attended countless workshops every year since with Dr. Kataoka, her proteges Keiko Kawamura and Keiko Ogiwara and graduates of Dr. Suzuki's school in Matsumoto.

I am very lucky to be a member of AASPA because it offers education, motivation and camaraderie to both students, parents and teachers through workshops, graduations and teacher research meetings. There is not another group the size and breadth of AASPA in the world! I'm happy to be able to contribute to this wonderful organization in my past roles of vice president, secretary and treasurer.
