We are honored to host Suzuki Master Teacher, Bruce Anderson, for our fall October 2019 workshop!

Join our workshop on the weekend of Oct 4th – 6th to supplement your child’s Suzuki instruction with this special master-level teaching experience.

You may participate in both individual and multi-piano format lessons. Sign up below and don’t miss out on this great learning opportunity!

Any parent and/or student can observe lessons on any day free of charge.

Are you an active AASPA member?

If you have not yet joined AASPA for this school year, then your first step is to join now. If you’re aleady a member for this school year (you paid your membership using our new site), then skip this step.

AASPA membership grants you discounted pricing to our workshop, among other benefits! Be sure you are a current member of AASPA by joining for the new school year. AASPA membership follows the school calendar and lasts one year, starting in the fall and ending the following summer. If you’ve not joined AASPA using our new site, then you are not a current member. So be sure to join!

Sign up for one or two student lessons

Students have a choice to sign up for a Multi-piano lesson and/or an individual Master lesson.


STUDENT OPTION 1:

Multi-piano lesson (Levels 1 - 3 only): 30-minutes
Students will play with same-level students, potentially from other studios, and receive a lesson for coordinated play in a dynamic format with Mr. Anderson. Children have really loved this option in the past! The song the group will work on must be performance-ready and approved by your teacher.  Please plan to attend for the whole hour to observe the other students.

Cost: $40 AASPA Members / $60 non-members

If you chose a Multi-piano lesson, you will need to choose any songs below which you are able to play (performance-ready; if you are not sure, please ask your teacher):

  • Twinkles

  • Allegro (from Book 1)

  • Musette (from Book 1)

  • Minute 2 (from Book 2)

  • Sonatina in C Major – Clementi, any of the 3 movements (from Book 3)


STUDENT OPTION 2:

Individual master lesson (Levels 1 – 3): 20 minutes
The student will receive 20-minutes of individual instruction by Mr. Anderson. Please plan to attend for the whole hour to observe the other students. Your teacher must approve which song you will receive a lesson on as it must be performance-ready.

Cost: $45 AASPA Members / $65 non-members


STUDENT OPTION 3:

Individual master lesson (Levels 4 and above): 30 minutes
The student will receive 30-minutes of individual instruction by Mr. Anderson. Please plan to attend for the whole hour to observe the other students. Your teacher must approve which song you will receive a lesson on as it must be performance-ready.

Cost: $65 AASPA Members / $85 non-members

Teacher Workshop Signup

Teachers have a choice of two types of participation in the workshop.

TEACHER OPTION 1:

Full Workshop Attendee: Teachers receive a masterclass lesson and can observe any part of the workshop. Teachers must enroll as a full workshop attendee in order for their students to sign up for workshop lessons. Teachers must enroll as a full attendee and take a lesson in order to participate in February 2020 Graduation.

Cost: $110

TEACHER OPTION 2:

Auditor: Teachers can come to observe any part of the workshop but will not receive a lesson.

Cost: $60 daily fee for AASPA Teacher Members / $75 daily fee for non-AASPA Teacher Members.

About Bruce Anderson

Bruce Anderson is a registered teacher trainer with the Suzuki Association if the Americas and is a highly sought-after clinician for seminars around the world. He has worked closely with Dr. Kataoka for many years and spent some time studying in Japan. Mr. Anderson maintains a thriving piano studio in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he works with both students and teachers. His students have performed in many venues, including numerous 10-Piano Concerts in Matsumoto, Japan, and Sacramento, California. We are privileged to have him present a workshop in Atlanta for Suzuki piano teachers and other interested pianists.
